Interview Magazine

Cover Reinterpretation

A project to redesign and photographically reinterpret a cover of Interview magazine, founded by Andy Warhol.  The project consisted of a photographic study aimed at recreating a famous magazine cover through the construction of a real photographic set, using professional lighting, a backdrop, and visual direction inspired by the original aesthetic. The goal was to analyze and reinterpret the magazine’s visual language, maintaining the iconic atmosphere but reconstructing it through new photographic production.

Photography Setup

Camera: Full-frame DSLR or mirrorless CANON 2000D

Lens: 85mm f/1.4 or f/1.8, ideal for portraits

Shooting Mode: Manual

Aperture: f/2.8 – f/5.6

Shutter Speed: 1/125th s

ISO: 100 – 400

Capture Format: RAW

Particular attention was also paid to the typography: the title “Interview” was redesigned by hand, inspired by Andy Warhol’s graphic signature, while the fonts used for the titles and text were researched and reconstructed to come as close as possible to the original editorial style.

The project combines photography, art direction, and editorial design, exploring the relationship between contemporary reinterpretation and the iconography of visual culture linked to the work of Andy Warhol.
